What to do when death occurs

Staff is on call 24 hours-a-day and 365 days-a-year for your assistance.
Your loved one will be brought into our care as soon as a release is authorized.

If burial is to take place at Shaarey Zedek Memorial Park, call the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue at 452-3711.

If burial is to take place at Hebrew Sick Cemetery, Bnay Abraham Cemetery, or Rosh Pina Memorial Park, call the Congregation Etz Chayim at 589-6305.

Family and friends are encouraged to accompany the deceased from the time of death until the burial. Sitting Shmira shows respect for and offers comfort to the soul of the deceased.

Plan to hold the funeral service as soon as possible, within 24 hours. Burial may be delayed for extenuating circumstances.

Six Jewish men are required as pallbearers. If necessary, the community will supply volunteers to assist families.
